Biking for your health: 8 reasons why you should definitely take a ride with Unlimited Biking

Everybody knows biking is great fun, but did you know it is also very good for your health? We would like to present you eight healthy facts about biking. So let’s start.

1. It is a very good training for your heart
If you ride at moderate speed five times a week for at least 30 minutes, your heart will be relieved and your blood circulation will increase. In the long run not only the blood pressure, but also the risk of vasoconstriction decreases. This reduces the risk of heart attack by up to 50 percent, according to the “World Health Organization” (WHO).
The heart muscle also benefits: In the medium to long term, it can become more efficient and can pump more blood through the body. The heart works more efficiently overall.

2. Strengthens the lungs
Whoever pedaling fills the lungs evenly with oxygen and strengthens his respiratory muscles. The regular exercise in the fresh air promotes the immune system, thus protecting against infections.

3. Strengthens the back
Common cause of back pain: lack of exercise and inappropriate stress on the back muscles. Cycling works gently. The rhythmic pedaling promotes the metabolism of the disc, the muscle structure stabilizes the spine, especially in the lumbar region. This relieves tension early.

After 30 to 40 minutes of endurance sports such as cycling, the body releases endorphins and serotonin – quite naturally. 5. Builds Musculature

A bike tour through the Central Park during the fall

It’s getting colder here in Big Apple. A warm jacket, a cup of tea or coffee and gloves are a Must-Have for these days. But with the cold comes also the beautiful fall. The different colors of the leaves and the fresh cold air. Worth seeing!

What should you definitely do during the fall? I really recommend the Central Park during the fall or even better, I recommend a bike tour through the Central Park during this beautiful season. With the bike you can see the hole beauty of the Park.

The weather is really good these days. The sun is shining and the temperatures aren’t that cold. And it’s also really calm in the big Central Park area. The streets are almost empty and one can concentrate on the different sights and the insane colorful landscape.

On the picture above you can see my favorite spot here in the Central Park – the Harlem Meer. I really love the Central Park area in Harlem. It is so peaceful and there are usually only a few people walking with their dogs or enjoying the sun on a park bench. And the best thing is that you can get there really quickly by bike.

Cleopatra’s Needle is another popular sight and the name for each of three Ancient Egyptian obelisks re-erected in London, Paris and in New York City during the nineteenth century. The New York City needle was erected in Central Park on 22 February 1881. It was a gift from the Khedive for the United States remaining a friendly neutral as the European powers – France and Britain – maneuvered to secure political control of the Egyptian Government. You should know there is a interesting story behind every sight in Central Park.

At the end of my bike tour I actually had to take off my sweater, because of the warm weather and also because of my bike route. You shouldn’t underestimate the distance. It’s an up and down all the time. But with all the sights and the awesome spots one completely forget the distance. Here you can see the Rock with a view. And it’s really true – the view is gorgeous with all the high rise buildings and the lake.
