The winter holidays are here! This is a great time to enjoy quality time with your family. Children get off school and adults, if they\u2019re lucky, are getting some time away from work. Washington DC is an amazing place to spend the holidays. There is usually a good deal of snow and there are plenty of activities for you and your family! We compiled a list of fun, family activities to keep you occupied this holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For families with children under 12 years old<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Check out the Wharf’s ice rink<\/a>! Strap yourself into some ice skates and have a great time with this winter favorite! If you are not an experienced ice skater, definitely look into renting elbow and knee pads. Safety first!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. See a dazzling performance of The Nutcracker<\/a> put on by the Washington Ballet. This classic tale has been given the DC treatment and features historical figures in the roles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Try out a Scavenger Hunt of Washington DC! This is a great way<\/a> to make sure you’re seeing all of DC while putting your brain to the test. It’s a perfect activity for people of all ages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Let DC Enchant<\/a> you. Head over to the Nationals Park and immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit. Meet Santa, travel through a light maze, and get some shopping in from local vendors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    For families with teenagers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Alexandria, Virginia is a beautiful town with a great holiday feel. If you’re visiting the DC area, you should check out this fun area with the whole family!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
