Every summer, New York City transforms nearly 20 miles of streets across all five boroughs into a vibrant playground for pedestrians, runners, cyclists, skaters, and families. Summer Streets 2025 continues that tradition, returning for five Saturdays: July 26, August 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 7 AM to 3 PM — with no cars, no traffic, and no entry fees.
What to Expect
During Summer Streets, iconic thoroughfares like Park Avenue, Lafayette Street, and Centre Street go fully car-free, opening up for art installations, fitness classes, music performances, and free activities for people of all ages. Water stops and shaded rest areas help you stay cool while you ride or stroll.
The main Manhattan route stretches from 109th Street in Harlem to the Brooklyn Bridge, but Summer Streets now reaches far beyond Manhattan. Since expanding in 2023, the event includes boroughs like Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and The Bronx, creating a truly citywide celebration.
Whether you’re snapping pics of large-scale murals, dancing to live music, joining a yoga class, or just cruising through traffic-free streets with your friends, Summer Streets delivers something unforgettable.assa
