7 TIPS TO STAY WARM DURING THE WINTER BIKE RIDE

Winter is here and the temperatures are starting to drop and that means snow isn’t far off. But just because the weather is cold doesn’t mean you should stay in the inside all day. Summer bodies are made in Winter and that’s why a bike tour is always a good idea to get fresh air, exercise and it is also a lot of fun to bike through the snow. And we have plenty of quick tricks to winterize yourself for a bike tour outside.

#1 Tip: Layer your clothing

Rule number one for staying warm on the bike is to layer your core. Not only will it keep you warmer than opting for a single thick jacket, but it will also make adjusting to temperature changes easier.

#2 Tip: Bring a spare jacket

While you may have layered perfectly for the current weather, you never know when things are going to get colder. To be safe, always take an extra windbreaker or vest to add a layer.

#3 Tip: Don’t forget your head

30% of the body’s heat is lost through the head. Make sure you take a cap with you. You can easily wear it under the helmet.

#4 Tip: Keep the cold water at home

Stay warm by filling an insulated water bottle with warm tea. An early and late season trick commonly used by the pros.

#5 Tip: Don’t forget your gloves

You definitely need warm and good gloves for a bike tour outside. Make sure that your gloves are waterproof and nothing can go wrong and your fingers aren’t freezing.

#6 Tip: Shield your eyes

Sunglasses are not only for bright, sunny days. They can also help you in the winter against snow and wind.

#7 Tip: Enjoy!

Our last tip for all of you is to enjoy the bike ride. Especially the Central Park is beautiful during the Winter season. Everything is peaceful and fine – enjoy this unique atmosphere with your family and friends.
